Hello and welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Bonn- Germany. I am DCM and Acting Consul General Hamid Nanyalai Kabiri and on behalf of my colleagues, I am glad and looking forward welcoming you. This website will undoubtedly be a mirror of the consulate activities; as well as, reflects the latest news related to Afghanistan, region and the world.

It is my great honor to serve Afghan people and to spend every moment in this position to strengthen the mutual partnership between Germany and Afghanistan and  promote understanding and appreciation between our two nations. Germans and Afghans have more in common than most people realize. Recently, Germany and Afghanistan have celebrated their 100 years of friendship that will continue for years to come.

Under the leadership of H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and the National Unity Government (NUG), Afghanistan is getting closer to peace, and economic development. Reforms in various sectors of the Afghan government are having measurable and positive impacts on Afghans’ quality of life. Most of the young generations are going to schools including millions of girls that were deprived from obtaining education and basic rights. Now, women are working together with their male colleagues in all areas including, police and army.

This isn’t the Afghanistan depicted in media reports, which emphasize conflict and violence. But significant achievements are being made every day in areas like education, job creation, women’s rights and empowerment, infrastructure, and economic development. Afghanistan is a beautiful country having tremendous amount of natural resources, fascinating landscapes, culture and loving people. More than 65% of its population is under the age of 35. Our young generation that are making the engine of moving Afghanistan forward; are educated, ambitious, and determined to achieve goals for our country.

Consulate general of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Bonn, appreciates the generous support Afghanistan has received and is receiving from Germany. Similarly, with gratitude and deep respect, we honor the enormous sacrifices that so many Germans have made in our shared struggle, especially those men and women who have gave their lives in battles against our shared enemies. We also thank the servicemen and women and those German civilians and aid workers, who have helped us in defending and re-building our country.

We do have challenges, but we are the nation that can overcome them.

Hello and welcome again.
